Bus Routes

The WCSD Transportation Department provides bus services to and from Dilworth Middle School for students who live over a two-mile radius (one way) from the school.  In most cases, almost all students who attend Dilworth Middle School do not qualify for transportation services, deeming the school as a walking school. Exceptions include students who qualify for services related to special education.  Students attending Dilworth Middle School on a variance or through School of Choice approvals also do not qualify for transportation service.

Students are encouraged to walk or ride bicycles/scooters/skateboards to school or can be dropped off and picked up in designated places.  Student drop off and pick up is designated on the east side of the building (accessible via Marian Way) or in the back of the school on Lincoln Way (in front of Lincoln Park Elementary School).  Staff members are assigned in the mornings and after school to support coming to and leaving school in a safe and responsible manner.

RTC Washoe Youth Pass Program

Washoe County School District students can now ride RTC buses for free thanks to a partnership between the school district and the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC). This program, called the RTC Youth Pass, allows students to use their student IDs and the Token Transit app (or a paper pass) to ride any RTC bus for free. The program aims to reduce absenteeism and provide students with easier access to school, work, and community resources.

  • Eligibility: All students enrolled in the Washoe County School District are eligible.
  • How to Ride: Students need their WCSD student ID and can either use the Token Transit app or request a paper pass.
  • Where to Ride: Students can use their free rides to get to school, work, libraries, free summer meal programs, and other community events served by RTC buses throughout the entire year, including breaks.
  • Benefits: The program is designed to reduce absenteeism, provide access to transportation for students with long walks to school, and enable students to reach jobs and other opportunities.
  • Program Launch: The RTC Youth Pass program officially launched on June 7th.
